The accomplishments and achievements attained by Wiley S. Drake in the field of Membership Organizations warrants recognition as a Top Professional of North America.
Wiley S. Drake is a California-based minister and radio host. He was the vice-presidential candidate for the American Independent Party ticket in California in 2008. Drake has drawn controversy for his use of imprecatory prayer.. He is the pastor of the First Southern Baptist Church of Buena Park, a Judeo Christian Ministry,he pastored since 1987 in Buena Park, California.
Drake grew up in Magnolia, Arkansas. He spent much of his time with his grandfather, Hamp Smead Beasley, a horse trader who took him to revival meetings. After winning a rodeo purse at fourteen, he joined the rodeo circuit. He joined the Navy at seventeen and served on the Kitty Hawk.
During the 1980s and 1990s, Drake clashed with officials of the city of Buena Park when he “turned his church parking lot and a church recreation building into a makeshift homeless shelter against city policy in order to feed the the homeless. The shelter at First Southern Baptist has helped countless people find the necessary help needed to regroup and start a new life. They Provided 2 meals a day, 7 days a week, not only to the homeless that reside there, but to the needy and less fortunate in the community.
Also on the grounds of the Church is a studio where Pastor Drake hosts a radio show daily. The show, “Wiley Drake in Buena Park” airs for one hour Monday through Thursday. The theme of the show, based on Micah 6:8 and Matthew 23:23, is Do Justice, Love Mercy, and Walk with God. Through his show, he loves to highlight ministries and businesses that serve the Christian community. He was rewarded for his ministry in radio for radio KKLA 99.5 FM Award 1997, and Power of One Award 1997.
