Dr. Merrill Krolick, DO, FACC, FACP, is a highly respected interventional cardiologist with over three decades of experience in clinical practice, research, and education. Born in New York City, Dr. Krolick began his academic journey by earning a bachelor’s degree in biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. He went on to receive his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, N.Y. Following his graduation, he completed a rotating internship at Sun Coast Osteopathic Hospital in Largo, Fla., and advanced training in internal medicine and cardiology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla. His training included specialized expertise in interventional cardiology and cardiac transplantation.

Clinical Practice and Leadership
Dr. Krolick has been in clinical practice since 1992, initially serving patients at Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Va. He currently practices at The Heart Institute at Largo and serves as an attending cardiologist at HCA Largo Medical Center, Morton Plant Hospital, and HCA Indian Rocks Hospital. His leadership roles include co-director of the cardiology fellowship program and director of the interventional cardiology fellowship at HCA Largo Medical Center. Additionally, he oversees the cardiac catheterization lab at the same institution.

Professional Achievements and Contributions
Dr. Krolick is triple board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology. He has authored numerous articles, including publications in The New England Journal of Medicine, and has contributed chapters to leading cardiovascular textbooks. As an associate professor of cardiology at the University of South Florida and Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Dr. Krolick is committed to advancing medical education and training future cardiologists.

Dr. Krolick has served as a clinical investigator for numerous drug and device trials, including pioneering studies on drug-coated balloons for peripheral vascular disease and drug-coated stents for coronary artery disease. Recognized as a national and local leader in endovascular interventions, Dr. Krolick is a sought-after speaker at major vascular conferences, including AMP and The Veins. He also serves on advisory panels for Bard Peripheral Vascular, CSI, Access Closure, and St. Jude Medical.
