Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Harry and Rose Videll, he began his academic journey at the University of Miami, where he earned a Bachelor of Education. He then shifted his focus to medicine, securing his doctorate from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1976.
Dr. Videll completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Atlantic City Medical Center in New Jersey, demonstrating early leadership skills by serving as chief resident. To deepen his expertise, he took on a dual Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship from 1979 to 1981, splitting his time between Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and the Deborah Heart and Lung Center (DHLC) in Browns Mills, New Jersey. He also completed a specialized Research Fellowship in Nuclear Cardiology at DHLC.
A Career of Medical Leadership
Dr. Videll quickly transitioned from clinical training to institutional leadership. In 1982, he became the director of employee health services at DHLC. Two years later, he brought his talents to the Pritikin Longevity Center in Pennsylvania.
His career continued to expand in 1987 when he accepted the role of clinical laboratory director at Physician Care Professional Corporation in Towanda, Pennsylvania. He subsequently advanced at the nearby Towanda Memorial Hospital, where he directed the cardiac stress laboratory. In 1992, Dr. Videll joined North Philadelphia Health Systems. By 1997, he had earned the position of medical director and chairman of clinical medicine for the associated Girard Medical Center.
Beyond his direct hospital affiliations, Dr. Videll has guided broader health initiatives. He served as a medical director for the American Cancer Society and worked as a state peer reviewer for the Keystone Peer Review Organization (KEPRO).
Distinguished Military Service
Parallel to his civilian work, Dr. Videll committed 13 years of service to the Medical Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He answered the call to active duty for several overseas deployments. Most notably, he served as the Deputy Commander (DCCS) of the 48th Combat Support Hospital (CSH) in Kuwait.
