Alma R. Jacobs an advocate of seeking out the needs for the society of aging, is Chair Advisory Council  for the Non Profit services of The Montgomery County Council on Aging and Adult Services. Alma Jacobs has led a highly distinguished career serving for more than a decade on the Montgomery County Community College’s Foundation Board of Directors. In 1984, she was appointed to serve as the first woman Secretary of the PA Department of Aging and was also Regional Director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services from 1990-1994.

In 2006, Alma Jacobs was appointed as a member of the Montgomery County for Aging and Adult Services Advisory Council and was elected Chair in 2010. For her service, she was recognized with the PA Association of Area Agencies of Aging Advocacy Award. She also serves on the Penn Asian Senior Services Board of Directors. Alma Jacobs was the first woman in Bell System as Director of Public Affairs in 1971, Bell of PA Telephone Co., and served as a past President of the Distinguished Daughters of Pennsylvania. Alma also serves as an honorary member of the Montgomery County Community College Foundation Board.

Alma attended the University of Pennsylvania/Bryn Mauer, majoring in  Engineering; she Received Honorary Degree at Montgomery County Community College. She is BFW; Former Chair of the first Commission for Women; Past Chair of Pennsylvania’s Federation of Republican Women; Chairman of Women For Greater Philadelphia; Foundation Board Montgomery County Community College; Conshohocken Business and Professional Women.

Alma Jacobs is deeply involved in community activities, civic projects and governmental initiatives. She was recently named the winner of the prestigious Public Service Award presented at the Pennsylvania Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs State Convention. She is past Ambler BPW Local Organization President and was named Woman of the Year in 1980 by BPW/PA and in 2010 by the Conshohocken BPW Local.
